Andrew Ng

Dr. Andrew Ng is one of the most influential people in artificial intelligence, named to Time magazine's Time100 AI list in 2023. As a pioneer in machine learning and online education, Andrew has helped millions of people around the world learn AI — from the Stanford course that reached over 100,000 students and led to Coursera's founding, to the more than seven million learners who have studied through DeepLearning.AI.

Andrew is the founder of DeepLearning.AI, founder and Executive Chairman of LandingAI, Managing General Partner at AI Fund, Chairman and Co-Founder of Coursera, and an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University's Computer Science Department. Andrew serves on the Board of Directors at Amazon.

In 2011, Andrew founded the Google Brain project, which pioneered large-scale deep learning research at Google using the company's distributed computing infrastructure. The team's work helped transform Google into an AI-first company and inspired the industry-wide adoption of deep learning.

From 2014 to 2017, Andrew served as Chief Scientist at Baidu, where he built and led the company's ~1,300 person AI Group and was responsible for driving its global AI strategy. Andrew has authored or co-authored over 200 research papers in machine learning, robotics, and related fields. In 2024, he was elected an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society.

Dr. Ng holds a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, an MS from MIT, and a BS from Carnegie Mellon University.
